Gary L. Aragon, M.D. completed his undergraduate training at The University of New Mexico and his medical degree from The University of New Mexico School of Medicine where he was selected to participate in their 2 year public health curriculum. His radiology residency was completed at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics where he was selected Chief Resident. Dr. Aragon was commissioned into the United States Air Force during his residency and attended the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine at Brooks AFB, TX receiving the title of Flight Surgeon. He finished his commitment at McClellan AFB, CA where he served as the Officer in Command of mammography and ultrasound.
Prior to joining Upstate Carolina Radiology, Dr. Aragon spent 18 years at Baptist St Anthony’s Hospital in Amarillo, TX overseeing the creation of their breast imaging program and serving as Medical Director of the Harrington Breast Center and academic assistant professor for Texas Tech University Health Care Center. Dr. Aragon was awarded the title of Texas Super Doctor by Texas Monthly Magazine in 2018 and 2019.
Dr. Aragon is board certified by the American Board of Radiology and is a member of the South Carolina Medical Association, the Radiological Society of North America, the American College of Radiology, the American Roentgen Ray Society and Society of Breast Imaging.
